The SA Tattoo returns this September for 4 nights only. Sold out for 4 years running, the 2013 show promises to be more spectacular than ever!

The SA Tattoo in partnership with Jacaranda 94.2fm, present a new, never seen before, combination of South African and International acts.

Top international performers, the Top Secret Drum Corps from Switzerland and the Musique des Parachutistes from France, perform alongside our finest local talent.

We welcome back traditional favourites, the Massed Pipes and Drums and the Highland and Irish Dancers, as well as our giant South African flag, our biggest symbol of patriotism and pride!

With the most anticipated show yet, the SA Tattoo is mass entertainment on a scale rarely seen in SA.

 

 

 

2013 Cast

Take the splendour and precision of our military bands, add the power of rock and the joy of dance, mix in the thunder of drums, the spine tingling sound of the pipes and serve with the passion and talent of almost 600 performers and you’ll have a taste of the 2013 South African Tattoo.

Top Secret Drum Corps – Switzerland

Top Secret needs no introduction; they were one of most popular acts in the inaugural 2008 South African Tattoo. This elite band of precision drummers from Basel returns with a mesmerizing new routine that has thrilled audiences across the globe.

Ten Drums – Taiwan

We thrilled to welcome this Grammy-winning group from one the capitals of the East with a feast of powerful rhythm and sound that’s totally new for this tattoo.

Musique Des Parachutistes – France

All the way from France, the Band of the French Army Parachute Battalion is another international highlight of this year’s tattoo which is sure to add another level of great music and circumstance.

Massed Pipes and Drums

SA’s largest gathering of pipers and drummers assembles on the esplanade again, lead this year by the South African Irish Regiment and featuring your favourite pipe bands of the SANDF Reserve Force and our top bands from the national competition circuit.

Band of the National Ceremonial Guard

The pride of the SANDF, this talented ensemble has played for kings and presidents, entertained the nation at the doors of Parliament and they’re here to bring you entertainment fit for royalty.

Celtic Dance Celebration

For the first time, the grace and precision of Highland Dance comes face to face with the raw energy and unique style of Irish Dance in one unforgettable exhibition of Celtic spirit.

South African Police Services Band (Tshwane)

Our boys in blue are back with their unique style of foot-tapping spirit-lifting music and formation marching.

Just Jinjer

South African legends of rock that need no introduction at all. They’ve performed alongside the world’s greatest rock bands like Counting Crows, Def Leppard and U2 and for four nights only, they’re all your yours. They’re bound to bring a new and exciting dimension of magic to this years show.

Code Red Drum Corps

Our very own special forces of drumming will be adding their own well known heart pounding rythms and visual spectacle to our 2013 line up.

Johannesburg Youth Orchestra

Nothing adds to the drama, emotion and power of a tattoo quite like the sound of a full orchestra. We’re thrilled to have the remarkably talented Johannesburg Youth Orchestra featuring on our cast list again this year.
